Night Market brings smiles to the faces of residents at Ferndale on Republic
Rain and loadshedding did not stop the pop-up night market to continue and the community showed up in numbers to support the businesses and to have fun.

There was a big turn-out at a pop-up night market in Ferndale on Republic despite the rain and load-shedding on November 25.
Young, old, families, and friends came out in numbers to enjoy the live music and to have lots of fun and shop.
From crafted arts, clothes, food, wine, beer, and some other shops people were spoilt with a variety of products to choose from and buy.
Organiser from Field Market, Handri Coolen said, “Field Market in collaboration with Ferndale on Republic has done three markets from the beginning of the year, this is a Christmas-themed market, just to bring the community together.”
She explained that the purpose of the market is to give people a platform and to allow entrepreneurs and small businesses to expand. Businesses can test their product ideas and customers can buy direct from the producers and makers to support those initiatives because we have a huge unemployment problem in the country.
“We want to create new small businesses so we can employ more people. “We tried to cater to a lot of people, lots of food, drink stalls, music just a fun night out. The turnout is amazing. It exceeded our wildest dreams,” added Coolen
