Carter is a former New Zealand All Blacks player while Botha is a former Springbok player.

According to Carter, one of the things he loves most about participating in these kinds of events is being able to witness the passion in young people and their willingness to learn and pursue their dreams.

“The coaching clinic [shared] tips on passing, skills to help speed, decision-making and the importance of fitness. The coaching clinic went smoothly because the students were also enthusiastic making my mission easier.”

Dozens of young players flocked to St Stithians College to attend the rugby clinic.

St Stithians College’s head of rugby Charles Post noted what a privilege and honour it was for the young players and coaches to learn from Carter.

The rugby clinic included a comprehensive kicking workshop.

“Having Dan Carter coach and train our students was an absolute privilege for me and my coaching team to be working with one of the greatest players of all time. We learnt and shared our rugby knowledge and experiences,” said Post.
