Vehicle stolen at Ferndale carwash

Vehicle owners should keep an eye on their cars, and car washers should likewise only give car keys back to vehicle owners, police say.

Police have urged car washers and the community to be wary after a car was stolen from a carwash in Ferndale.

Randburg police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said at about 11:45 on September 8, the victim took his car for a wash.

“He later went back to collect his vehicle but was surprised when he was informed that his vehicle was taken by a friend who paid for it,” Maja said.

“We are appealing to our car washers to hand over the keys to the owners of the cars or the person who brought the car.”

Vehicle owners should also keep an eye on their cars when they are being washed.
