Crime Prevention Unit of the Randburg police arrests three after tip-off

Spokesperson of the Randburg Police Station Captain Makgowanyana Maja encourages more community members of Randburg and Sandton to report on criminal activities.

The Randburg Crime Prevention Unit was notified of suspicious activities involving the transportation of drugs in the area on September 12.

Members of the police spotted a car which fitted the description of the tip-off. The vehicle which had three occupants was stopped by the officials. During a search protocol, the officials discovered that the suspects had about 650 mandrax tablets in their possession.
They were apprehended immediately by the officials. It was later discovered that the suspects were driving a stolen vehicle.
According to the spokesperson of the Randburg Police Station Captain Makgowanyana Maja, the age of the suspects were between 34 and 36. They will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for the possession of a stolen vehicle and drugs.

Randburg Police Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones thanked the community members for the tip-off which led to the arrest of the three suspects. She encouraged more of the locals to work hand in hand with police officials to reduce crime around the area.
