Robin Hills business owner struggles with load-shedding but finds silver lining

Since he is unable to work without electricity, local business owner must do something else during load-shedding.

Robin Hills resident, Leigh-Toune Pheiffer writes:

I know I am not the only one affected by load-shedding, and I’m not the first to complain, but it really is bad.

Still, rather than just complaining, make the most of your time and do something productive.

I work from home here in Robin Hills and when load-shedding comes I lose out on business.

For about five years I have owned a car part business which mainly deals in parts for German cars.

But when there is no electricity, I cannot help people and I end up spending two hours out if it’s during the day.

My family and I have been going to the local swimming pool because it is very nice there.

It means we can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air and connect with each other.

Thanks to load-shedding, I met the friendly lifeguards and we made the swims a highlight of the day.

Of course, I still need to work and it is a shame I am missing out on business.

But it is important to think positive and make the most of our time.
