Children sell toys, sweets and more at Kids Market at Robyn Park

The youngsters ran between stalls trading and selling items to each other to ensure they had premium toys and goodies to sell.

Toys, sweets, cupcakes, homemade cardboard aeroplanes and more were for sale at a super fun and successful Kids Market in Robyn Park.

A warm and sunny day greeted community members as they arrived at the park along the Klein Jukskei River on September 3.

There was only one rule on the day and that was that every stall had to be run by children – this was an event for them.

So parents assisted but had to take a back seat and watch their little ones learn about business and serving customers.

Csert (Community Security Emergency Response Team) oversaw the security while the Jukskei Park Community Forum did play a small role in encouraging families to come through, though the organising of just about the whole spiel was done by the youngsters.

“It has been fun,” commented youngster Violet Oosterbroek as she lined up pot plants on her table.

This while Ella Engelbrecht and Isabella Greyling said the vibe was good and the park looked beautiful, as they showed their toys off for sale.

The annual event saw youngsters trade with each other to keep their stalls busy.

There was also a raffle for the children with a huge toy snake going to the winner.
