Windsor community wraps trees for Women’s Month

Windsor Community Support Services and other groups organise the initiative as a 'thank you' to women.

Community members have wrapped trees in Windsor in purple fabric for Women’s Month.

The initiative was headed by the Windsor Community Support Services (WCSS), Global Platinum Solutions and Linden police.

Trees in the suburb have been wrapped in purple fabric.

“Why purple? It symbolises dignity and justice,” explained Mathabo Bekimbia-Tchoffo of WCSS, a non-profit organisation aiming to improve the suburbs of Windsor East and Windsor West.

“We are also trying to bring positive attention to our beautiful Windsor suburb by embracing nature and our surroundings. Windsor has strong and courageous women who work very hard trying to restore our suburb’s dignity and maintain justice.”

Bekimbia-Tchoffo thanked women in the community, especially those in the police and at Global Platinum Solutions for making the initiative possible.
