Young Rebel Recording Studio hosted the youth to an all-female open mic night

A recording studio in Ferndale held a successful evening event for all-female musicians this Women’s Month

It was great to see how many young talented female musicians came to the Young Rebel Recording Studio in Ferndale on August 18 to show off their mind-blowing talents.

The musicians shared how they were able to polish their talent during the pandemic and some used this time to put their songs out there digitally. They all had bigger plans to pursue for their future.

To kick off the night, the host for the night Sego Molefe aka Psycho Sax welcomed everyone to the honourable Women’s Month event.

Following that, the audience was treated to live soulful performances from Trexpas along with her uncle Alex who sang an original song I want it all which is about how one could make all their dreams possible.

The next performance was from Thembalethu Jiyane who shared she was performing live for the first time since 2017. Jiyane shared how excited she was to be performing in front of a crowd again and sang Love ballade by LTD which is about relationships and love.

Tshepiso Leokaoke graced the audience with her spoken poetry piece Perspective which details people’s perspectives on different women’s societal matters.

To wrap up the special evening, singer and instrumentalist Jade Beeby performed a range of cover songs. The audience sang along to the likes of Scrubs by TLC and Valerie by the late Amy Winehouse.
