Classroom receives a new look at Oceans Private School

Oak in Randburg SDA hope to partake in more projects where they can help the community.

On July 14 and 15, Oak in Randburg Seventh-day Adventist Church renovated one of the classrooms at Oceans Private School in Ferndale.

Members of the church decided on this heartfelt act of kindness as a token of appreciation to the Oceans Private School community, as the church had been using the school’s facilities to congregate on Saturdays.

The church’s leadership representative Athi Mlanjana said, “We recently spearheaded a collaboration between ourselves and the school in doing some renovations for the school for one of their biggest classrooms.”

Mlanjana said they had changed from their church regalia into overalls so that they could get their hands dirty for this collaborative effort which took two days for them to complete.

“When the work was concluded, we then donated the unutilised material to the school to be used for future renovation projects. As a church, we see this as the beginning of the community work that we will be embarking on in the Randburg/Ferndale area.
“We look forward to many more collaborative efforts with both the school and the rest of the Randburg community.”
