Beyers Naudé Drive to reopen following serious accident
A number of injuries have been reported following an accident involving a Randburg Sun distribution truck in Randpark Ridge this morning.
A truck distributing Randburg Sun newspapers was involved in an accident this morning (July 28) on the corner of Beyers Naudé Drive and C.R. Swart Drive.
The incident involved multiple vehicles and emergency services were on scene to assist. A number of injuries have been reported and several people taken to hospital.
“We can confirm that a number of people have been taken to hospital for further treatment. Those injured remain a top priority to us, and we wish them well in their recovery,” said Marietta Lombard, Editor-in-Chief, Caxton Greater Johannesburg.
Distribution to a number of areas will be delayed. These include Fontainebleau, Kelland, Malanshof, Moret, Praegville, President Ridge, Randpark, Robin Acres, Ruiterhof, Sonneglans, Strydom Park, The Willows Estate, Windsor, Windsor Glen. Distribution to these areas will be completed tomorrow (July 29).
The scene was closed by local authorities. Relevant authorities were on the scene for further investigation. More information will follow as it becomes available.
