Shoppers save lives on a Mandela Day

Shoppers at the Randrige Mall save lives in just 30 minutes by donating blood.

Randrige Mall in partnership with South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted a ‘It only takes 30 mins to save 3 lives’ blood donation drive from July 16 to 18.

Randrige Mall marketing manager Sihle Bhengu said, “We partnered with SANBS to have this blood drive which took three days from July 16 to 18 because we wanted our customers to become heroes of this Mandela Day.

“It’s safe to say on our third day that our shoppers have shown support toward the blood drive and it’s good to know that there are many people out there considering saving lives.”
Shopper and blood donor Aren Visagie said she was happy to share her blood with others to save the lives of those in need.

Fellow blood donor Wayne Havey said, “I am happy to share my blood to save the lives of those I can help.”

At the end of the drive, five blood donors had the chance to win a commemorative Madiba gift set.
