The residential association and various policing forums give back to a local charity

Various knitted and crochet items were donated from a global charity organisation to a local children’s charity.

Several knitted blankets, beanies and toys were donated to a local children’s non-governmental organisation (NGO) with toys and warm, knitted essentials in June.

The chairperson of the Bordeaux South Residents Association (BSRA), Trishana Moodley, together with the Randburg Community Police Forum (CPF) Sector 1, as well as some members of the Linden and Randburg police stations trauma and victim support units, gifted the knitted garments and toys to One Small Act of Kindness.

One Small Act of Kindness is a Randburg-based NGO founded by Kelly-Ann van der Meer. This NGO was gifted with knitted blankets, beanies and toys by Knit a Square which is a global charity organisation that continues to crochet and knit squares which form blankets to distribute them to many orphaned and vulnerable children.

Moodley shared that the NGO fed and ran a school/crèche that cares for children while their parents were at work. “A lot of the children that attend have parents that do not have the funds to send them elsewhere.”

This was the first blanket project that the CPF had managed. “Other projects have included the domestic watch for suburbs and engaging with businesses and communities in the Randburg Sector 1 area.”
