Youth Day talent extravaganza a hit

Pub and grill founder hosts a talent show for the community’s youth.

Dilo Stofong Pub and Grill, founded by Zandspruit resident Adam Ndlovu, held a successful youth talent extravaganza on June 16.

Ndlovu shared that growing up during the 90s in Zandspruit, the youth didn’t have the platform to show off their talents. “Growing up in Zandspruit gave me light, to be the hope for the Zandspruit youth after I left school,” said Ndlovu.

He was happy to share that the Dilo Stofong Talent Extravaganza was a successful event with the venue filled to capacity with Zandspruit youth and community coming together.

Supporters were wowed by the range of talent that the youth showed. Some of the great acts exhibited throughout the day included poetry, choirs, drama, pantsula dancing, artists, gumboot dancing and many others.

A joint effort by Golden Gupta and Kasi Sheriff helped put this event together. “They are Zandspruit’s most active youth individuals that came up with the concept of bringing the youth together,” said Ndlovu.

“We as Dilo Stofong Pub and Grill would like to work together with the youth of Zandspruit to change the mindset of our youth and bring them together for a better future.” He added the community hoped for a multi-purpose centre and a library for the youth.

Ndlovu extended his thanks to Ward 114 councillor David Tebogo Mangena for providing them with the platform to put the event together. He thanked the Zandspruit community and surrounding areas such as Cosmo City and Mogale City for their support.
