Honeydew police arrested 53 suspects in the past seven days.
Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said these arrests were made between 06:00 on July 11 and 06:00 on July 18.
“They were for a variety of crimes including possession of endangered animal species, theft out of motor vehicle, assault common, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery and more,” he said.
“The suspects are appearing at the two courts that serve our station, namely Randburg and Roodepoort magistrate’s courts.”
Muthan encouraged community members to report incidents of crime.
