Police have urged residents to be cautious after an increase in housebreakings, hijackings and theft of motor vehicles was seen.
Honeydew Police Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said housebreakings were especially a problem in Cosmo City and the Honeydew Police Precinct.
Regarding these and hijackings, Muthan urged residents to be vigilant when exiting and leaving their homes that there are no suspicious people about and gates are properly closed.
The increase of theft of motor vehicles often happens at shopping centres, Muthan said.
He urged shoppers to ensure their vehicles are locked before leaving them.
