The official launch of acclaimed author Fred Khumalo’s new book was the first event at the new look Exclusive Books shop in Cresta.

Renowned South African author Fred Khumalo launched his latest novel Two Tons o’ Fun at the brand-new look Exclusive Books in Cresta shopping centre on April 13.

In conversation with Karabo Kgoleng, a seasoned broadcaster specialising in arts and literature, Khumalo said with his latest book he wanted to tell the story of inequality through the voice of a 14-year-old girl. “I wanted to tell the story of inequality and growing up in Alexandra township,” he said.

Kgoleng said Khumalo always surprised. “You think he is writing another short story or novel that makes you laugh, then he writes a story in a voice of a woman in Alexandra township,” she said.
The official launch of the book was held at the new Exclusive Books shop which is now situated next to Lush on the first floor (closest to entrance 4).
