Jackal Creek night run for a good cause

NORTH RIDING – Proceeds from the 5km and 10km night runs will go towards an electric wheelchair for a boy with duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Get out your running shoes and head lamp because a night run will soon be held as a fundraiser for a boy with a genetic disorder.

The Jackal Night Run/Walk for Jason will see money collected for North Riding resident Jason Winslow (15), who was born with duchenne muscular dystrophy and by 2017 he was no longer able to walk without assistance.

His family is saving up for a specialised electric wheelchair and has asked the community to assist.

When the run kicks off at Jackal Creek Golf Estate at 17:45 until 20:30 on March 24, one can exercise for a good cause.

The Night Trail Series boasts a 5km and 10km course, beautiful scenery, wildlife, medals for all finishers and a fantastic vibe.

Jason has a wheelchair that has been attached to a bicycle, which his father Brohnsonn cycles.

The family has a Backabuddy campaign that has raised R234 541 towards its target of R700 000.
