Randburg police warn of theft out of motor vehicles

In a separate incident, the keys to a BMW have been found and police urge the owner to come forward.

After a recent incident of theft out of a vehicle, Randburg police have encouraged motorists to report suspicious persons loitering in parking lots.

“Always, someone sees what’s happening but does not report [it]. So let’s join hands and work together by reporting any suspicious movements or persons,” said spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja.

The community was urged not to leave their valuables inside their vehicles and when using central locking or a remote, people should test if all their doors are locked.

Maja also asked the owner of a BMW to come forward and claim their lost car keys. He said the keys were found on Homestead Avenue, Bryanston.

The keys can be collected at Randburg police’s client service centre.
