There was never a more colourful and smile-filled day than when Randpark Christian Academy wore their craziest, most vibrant socks.
The primary and preschool learners and staff supported World Down’s Syndrome Day through the Rock Your Socks campaign, on March 17.
“We are having fun and showing our support for such an important initiative,” explained co-owner of the academy, Katie Morby.
“At our school we promote inclusion. We have three learners with Down’s syndrome and another three with cerebral palsy. Many schools do not have the means to appropriately help and teach these children so it is important that we can.”
She said children with similar motor disabilities and disorders struggle to find schools that can cater to them.
R1 960 was raised on the day and will be donated to Down’s Syndrome Association.
