Linden Police spokesperson Sergeant Takalani Sibiya can now confirm three suspects have been arrested and charged with murder. “It was on Thursday 8 February at 15:30 when the Linden police received a complaint at cottage Street, Robindale,” Sibiya said. “On arrival the police found a member of the community who showed them the body of a man who was lying behind his bakkie bleeding from the head.

He explained to the police that he was just passing by, when he saw the body of a man lying on the street, injured, and bleeding from the head.” The passer-by at first wanted to transport the man to a nearby clinic in his bakkie, only to determine that the man, who police say was 67, had died. Sibiya said the wound was not caused by a gunshot, though police are still determining what object was used to cause the injury.

“A case of murder was opened [and] three suspects [have] been arrested – one female and two males.”

“The motive of the killing [is] unknown so far. The investigation [is] still continuing.”
