PLG Northriding Academy to close down in March

NORTH RIDING – This after a mother posted a photo on Facebook of the notice she received from the school, apparently without any advanced warning.

PLG Schools has confirmed its Northriding Academy will close down come the end of the first term this year.

This after a mother posted a photo on Facebook of the notice she received from the school, apparently without any advanced warning.

The notice explained that school management decided the school will close from March 17 onwards.

“This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact this will have on your individual lives as the year has just started. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the notice read.

The mother explained that her son came home with the letter.

“He has been attending this school for five years now,” she said.

“This is after we have paid school fees, bought stationery and uniforms. We have had no communication with the school, just this letter sent today. It is stated that we need to find other schools within three months. Do we as parents have legal recourse.”

The school confirmed to the Randburg Sun it will close and said its financial director will be available to answer queries soon.

This is a developing story and Randburg Sun will publish updates as they happen.
