Heroes – they live among us! Perhaps its your neighbour, your dog-walker or your child’s extra mural teacher – a person who goes above and beyond the call of duty, just because they can.
Well, Randburg Sun and Westpack Lifestyle believe that these #RandburgHeroes deserve a bit of credit, and we want you to help us give it to them.
We are looking for residents of Randburg to nominate their fellow community members, who take it upon themselves to uplift their community in one way or another, however big or small. Maybe you know someone who gives free extra lessons to children in need, or who walks dogs at a local shelter? It could be someone who actively picks up litter on a daily basis, or a person who raises money for a charity of their choice. Perhaps it’s bigger – perhaps you know someone who is a full-time carer at an organisation for those in need, or whose life is dedicated to the upliftment of other community members – there is no act too big or too small, and our #RandburgHeroes deserve to be seen.
So how do you nominate a hero?
We have made the process as easy as possible. Simply download the free PixzAR app on your smartphone, and scan the image.
This will take you through to an online form that you will be required to fill in. Information required includes the person’s name, contact details, and of course your reason for nominating them, as well as a photograph, if possible.
These will all come through to our editor, who will select 1 winner per month. The month’s #RandburgHero will receive a R1 000 voucher from our friends at Westpack Lifestyle, and will be featured in the Randburg Sun the following month.
