Excellence is celebrated at RCCI

RANDPARK – Business owners are honoured with awards for creating jobs and generating wealth during a tough economic climate.


It was a reason to dress up and smile – celebrating one’s success and the success of others, at the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Excellence Achievement Awards.

Business owners, their upper management and their partners filled up a conference room at Randpark Golf Club on November 30.

They all dressed to the nines while comedian Pravesh Mungaldave lightened the mood before the serious part of the evening.

Chamber president Richard Ntjana and CEO Linda Blackbeard handed out the awards on the night, before entrepreneur Simphiwe Makapela shared some of his life lessons.

He established the Hamelin, a rat eradication business that has become very successful, especially in townships.

The big winners on the night were awarded for their success in a difficult economic climate, and the jobs this has created.

They were:

  • Menno Parsons of Master Power Technologies (Pty) Ltd
  • Aldworth Mbalati of DNG Energy Ltd
  • Malani Padayachee – Mpamot (Pty)Ltd
  • Sizwe Mavuso, for his SMME IMMA Water Tank design

Also to be awarded a certificate on the night, was Randburg Sun, for its dedication in reporting local news in Randburg.
