DA claims win in Ward 101

BOSKRUIN – Ralf Bittkau claims a win in Ward 101, vows to keep fighting to improve infrastructure in the area.

DA councillor, Ralf Buittkau has won Ward 101 at this year’s local government elections, according to the party’s calculations.

The Ward covers Boskruin, Bromhof and surrounding areas.

This after the preliminary vote count for the ward was completed, and party agents said they found the majority win for the DA too great for a re-count to change the winner.

“I would like to convey a big thank You to the residents of ward 101 for their support and trust in me,” said Bittkau, who had been Ward councillor of this Ward before but took a break when the same party’s Dalu Cele took over.

“I realise that we have some very serious issues to resolve and resolve urgently, namely the intermittent power and water issues. As a resident these and all other service related challenges are foremost on my agenda. As you may be aware, I have been on the infrastructure team in the city for 15 years as this is extremely close to my heart. I believe that it forms the backbone of a successful and sustainable life that we are all striving for and deserve.

“Thus service delivery is the foremost essential to the residents in my mind. I will be there for all and for that purpose I already have some plans to streamline the channels of engagement with residents for the improvement of service delivery and feedback on issues.”

The IEC has not verified the results of this ward. Preliminary results are based on the work of party agents at the vote count, and their political parties in determining acceptable margins at which to call a win initially.
