Police arrested 40 suspects during a weekend operation from October 15 to 17 in the Johannesburg north region.
Police stations involved included Douglasdale, Diepsloot, Linden, Florida, Randburg, Roodepoort and Honeydew.
Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson for Douglasdale police said, “The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from murder, armed robbery, assault to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of dangerous weapons, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs, malicious damage to property, shoplifting, reckless and negligent driving and dealing in liquor without a licence,” she said.
She concluded that the suspects would soon appear in the Randburg and Roodepoort magistrates’ courts.
