Honeydew CPF to host committee elections

HONEYDEW – New sector committees are needed at the Honeydew Community Policing Forum.

The Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) will hold election meetings for the new committees for sector 1, 2, and 3 for next year.

All three sectors are in need of new members with fresh ideas to assist in the fight against crime.

According to the current forum’s committees, there can be a perception that serving on these committees is onerous and time consuming, but that need not be the case. For example, the secretary’s position basically entails taking minutes at the monthly meeting and typing them up for distribution.

The Sector 1 meeting takes place on November 8 at 18:00 in the boardroom at the Honeydew Police Station.

The suburbs in Sector 1 are North Riding AH, Northgate, Northwold, Sundowner, Strijdom Park, Sonneglans, Bromhof, Boskruin, Bush Hill AH, Kelly Ridge, Glen Dayson AH, Hunter’s Hill AH, and parts of Randpark Ridge.

The Sector 2 meeting takes place on November 25 at 19:00 in the boardroom at the Honeydew Police Station.

The suburbs in Sector 2 are Allens Nek, Weltevreden Park, Constantia Park, Hillfox, Panorama AH, and parts of Randpark Ridge.

The Sector 3 meeting takes place on November 10 at 18:30 at Frontline City Church, 60 Johan Road, Honeydew.

The suburbs in Sector 3 are Strubens Valley, Little Falls, Amorosa, Aanwins, Alsef AH, Ambot AH, Kimbult AH, Eagle Canyon, Harveston, Honeydew Ridge, Honeydew View, Honeydew Manor, Honeydew, Radiokop, Laser Park, Wilgeheuwel, Wilgespruit, Ruimsig, Tres Jolie, and Zonnehoewe.

Nomination forms need to be submitted, and nominees need to undergo a vetting process which will include being fingerprinted for police clearance.

Nomination forms are available from Michael Steyn, the forum’s public relations officer who can be contacted on 072 895 1289.
