Honeydew Community Policing Forum recently recorded its largest group of patrollers active on one night.
This featured 40 people patrolling Sectors 1, 2 and 3 in 19 vehicles on a Friday night.
The forum’s public relations officer, Michael Steyn said the patrollers dealt with open gates and assisted with broken-down vehicles and accidents.
He also thanked the Honeydew police reservist team, which had two vehicles out on the night and assisted the patrollers when needed.
“I would encourage community members to join the team and make a difference in their area,” Steyn told Randburg Sun.
He said residents could contact the forum’s vice-chairperson, Jon Rosenberg on 082 450 2305 and he would be able to provide more details about how one could get involved.
Steyn added even spending time with the forum’s patrollers would help one understand what the group was about.
