33 arrested in a joint operation

DOUGLASDALE – The suspects were arrested on a variety of charges.


A total 33 suspects were arrested by Douglasdale and Metro police in joint operations in the area on the weekend 28 to 30 May.

The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from rape, human trafficking, malicious damage to property, assault common, dealing in liquor without a licence, reckless and negligent driving, theft, contempt of court, driving under the influence of liquor and shoplifting.

The arrested suspects will appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.

“The police will continue with these operations to ensure that the community of Douglasdale is safe,” police spokesperson Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said.

“We also appeal to members of the community to keep on reporting all criminal activities in their area by phoning Douglasdale police on 011 6991300/1320 or 086 001 0111 or alternatively, use the MySAPS app to provide tip-offs anonymously and or to find their nearest police station.”
