Bryanston employee convicted of signature fraud

BRYANSTON – Signature fraud leads to five years imprisonment for Bryanston worker.


A woman was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for committing signature fraud.

Randburg police spokesperson, Captain Makwanyana Maja confirmed that the case investigated by them since 2019 had culminated in her sentencing in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court recently.

“The crime happened in August 2019, and the woman was working for conveyance attorneys at the time,” Maja said.

“The company she worked for is based in Bryanston and she committed the signature fraud in relation to the purchase of a house.”

Maja urged community members to not copy the signatures of others, especially on important documents.
