One suspect dead after Randpark Ridge robbery

RANDPARK RIDGE – One suspect was shot dead after a robbery at the Honeycrest Shopping Centre in Randpark Ridge on 25 May.


Honeydew police responded to the scene of a robbery at Honeycrest Shopping Centre in Randpark Ridge that left one suspect dead.

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said in the late morning, between four to five armed suspects entered Cash Crusaders and allegedly attempted to rob it.
“Suspects proceeded to rob the store before attempting to make off with various stolen items in their white BMW getaway vehicle,” said Muthan.

A lone suspect entered the neighbouring automotive sound shop and attempted to assault the store owner.
“The store owner was able to retrieve his firearm inside the store and managed to shoot the suspect,” said Muthan.
The suspect was declared dead on the scene and one firearm was recovered.

The police are encouraging business owners to be vigilant, and are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of the other suspects. They have also warned that the suspects are armed and dangerous.
