29 suspects arrested in a week of operations in Honeydew

HONEYDEW – Twenty nine suspects were arrested for various crimes in the week of 5 to 11 April.


The Honeydew police are celebrating a week of successes after the arrest of 29 suspects for various crimes in the week of 5 to 11 April.
Spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “We would like to congratulate our police members for making a large number of arrests in such a short period of time. These arrests are for multiple crimes.”
Various Crime Prevention Operations were held to see that crime was kept to a minimum.

Some of the 29 arrests include:

  • Robbery
  • Hijacking
  • Possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition
  • Assualt
  • Sexual assault
  • Assault with grievous bodily harm
  • Selling liquor illegally
  • Malicious damage to property.

Muthan noted that business/housebreaking and robberies were still a concern to the station management.
He said that the special Echo Group of officers have been hard at work planning the operations and bringing down the rate of trio crimes in the area.
Trio crimes include house robbery, business robbery and vehicle hijacking.
