Douglasdale police arrest 33 suspects over the weekend

DOUGLASDALE – Police arrested suspects for a range of crimes ranging from selling liquor without a licence to dealing drugs.


A total of 33 suspects were arrested by Douglasdale police and Metro police in a joint operation in the area over the weekend of 9 to 11 April.

The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm, to assault common, dealing in liquor without a licence, reckless and negligent driving, dealing in dagga, drinking in public, and shoplifting.

“The arrested suspects will peak at Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon,” confirmed Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson, captain Mpho Tshetlhane.

“The police will continue with these operations to ensure that the community of Douglasdale is safe. We also appeal to members of the community to keep on reporting all criminal activities in their area by phoning Douglasdale police on 011 699 1300/20 or 086 001 0111 or alternatively use the MySaps app to provide tip-offs anonymously and or to find their nearest police station.”
