“Our learners performed incredibly well, and in certain subjects, our learners obtained more distinctions than normal. We are overjoyed and immensely proud of their efforts,” said Wiehahn. When the initial Covid-19 lockdown hit last year, the school had to immediately formulate a plan to ensure that learning could continue.

Deputy principal Nico van Niekerk said, “Our teachers have to be beyond commended for their efforts in ensuring that no learner was left behind. Many of our teachers had to initially improvise learning setups and record videos of themselves teaching, and it was all incredibly strange. But their hard work and dedication paid off, and the results we have seen today are a testament to this.”

Wiehahn and Van Niekerk wished their matric Class of 2020 tremendous success in their future studies and careers.
