Stunning results for King’s College matrics

BRYANSTON – The King's College Bryanston received a 100 per cent pass rate.


The King’s College Bryanston says that they can truly be proud of their matric Class of 2020’s achievements. “Not only have they weathered an unprecedented year by navigating the effects of a pandemic in their last year at The King’s College, but they have achieved excellent results,” said school principal Calla Raats.

Below are some of the class’s achievements:

  • 100 per cent pass rate with 98 per cent achieving a bachelor degree pass Top achievers:
  • Sibusisiwe Hlabangana – 8 distinctions (including applied mathematics) of which five are above 90 per cent; achieving 98 per cent for mathematics
  • Charnè von der Becke – 8 distinctions (including applied English) of which two are above 90 per cent
  • Emma Atkins – 6 distinctions of which two above 90 per cent
  • Jessica Goble – 6 distinctions of which two are above 90 per cent
  • Abigail Miller – 5 distinctions
  • Lwazi Ndlovu – 5 distinctions.
  • Independent Education Board NSC Examinations top 1 per cent per subject:
  • Sibusisiwe Hlabangana – accounting, business studies, life orientation and mathematics
  • Emma Atkins – business studies
  • Jessica Goble – business studies.

A special congratulations went out to Sibusiswe Hlabangana who was recognised by the IEB for Commendable Achievement. She was in the top 5 per cent in five subjects and achieved a rating of Level 7 in life orientation.

“In addition to these remarkable results, there are numerous candidates who increased their marks by a symbol, and in some cases two, from their year mark to their final IEB mark, a testament of the excellent preparation for their final exams throughout the year.

“I want to thank all the teaching staff who had a hand in shepherding our matric Class of 2020 during their time at King’s. Granted, most of the praise will go to the matric teachers, but all King’s staff, from Grade 1 to Grade 11 also played a significant role during this time. Congratulations Class of 2020 and we salute you,” concluded Raats.
