Crime and GBV awareness drive in Cosmo City

COSMO CITY – An operation and awareness walk through the streets of Cosmo City took place on 22 January.


The Honeydew police and other role-players engaged in an operation and awareness walk through the streets of Cosmo City on 22 January.

The police conducted an operation to ensure that businesses and community members were adhering to Covid-19 regulations, including wearing masks, social distancing and the sale of alcohol illegally.

The Honeydew police’s Sergeant Mamasedi May said that in the operation, the police also focused on raising awareness about business robberies and how business can remain safe, as it is an issue that continues to be a problem in Cosmo City and the wider policing area.

Police and community patrollers engaged with the community and handed out several pamphlets with information addressing sexual, child and gender-based violence to passing pedestrians to help enforce the police’s drive to raise awareness about the issue.
Pamphlets addressing crime safety and the prevalence of Aids and how to prevent it was also handed out to the community.
