Man dies in structural collapse in Boskruin

BOSKRUIN – According to ER24, two other men who sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated and then transported to a hospital.


A man died on the afternoon of 10 February following a structural collapse at a residence in Boskruin.

ER24 and other emergency and rescue services arrived at the scene around 1.29pm and found that part of a roof had fallen on a construction worker, two men were attempting to free the man from beneath the concrete. “On assessment, medics found that the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 communication officer.

“The two other men were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were treated and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
