Wood reflects on pandemic in Christmas message

FERNDALE – Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood reflected on the year gone by in his Christmas message.

Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood would like to wish his community a very Merry Christmas, and reflected on the year gone by.

He writes:

Despite the lowlight of the Covid-19 outbreak which impacted the ward, the city and the whole country, people came together and reached out to meet the needs of one another.

My hope for Christmas and the future is that we will not lose that humanity but build on it.

This year, I have also seen people taking charge of their own communities with many projects being driven at a local level.

This pandemic has given us a chance to press the reset button. I hope the lessons we have learnt will equip us to deal more effectively going forward.

At this point, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to those residents who lost loved ones to the pandemic. I pray the Lord will give you His grace to endure the sad loss.

I would like to thank all the City entities for their assistance throughout the year. My thanks and appreciation goes to members of the police, Metro police, Emergency Services and security companies for their assistance in our communities as well.

In conclusion, I would like to wish those of you who celebrate Christmas a blessed time. To you all, I hope you can find the time to relax and charge those batteries for the new year.
