RCCI elects new board of directors at annual general meeting

FERNDALE – The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) recently hosted their annual general meeting at Atrium Terrace in Ferndale.


The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) recently hosted their annual general meeting at Atrium Terrace in Ferndale. The event saw the election of their new Board of directors, as well as an address from the President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) Mtho Xulu.

The new board of directors elected at the AGM were:

  • President – Mr Richard Ntjana
  • Vice President – Mr Chose Choeu
  • Director of Finance – Mrs Yvonne Jeffries
  • Director of Governance – Mr Rakesh Singh
  • Director of Policy – Ms Maushami Chetty
  • Director of Business Development – Mr Chose Choeu
  • Director of Trade & Investment – Mr Manjush Mathews
  • Director of SMME development – Mr Richard Ntjana
  • Director of Women in Business – Mrs Malani Padayachee
  • Director of Randburg Revitalization Project – Mrs Mary Gillet-de Klerk
  • Director – Neil Pollock
  • CEO – Linda Blackbeard

Xulu offered that the RCCI has been “one of the most committed members of SACCI”. The President of SACCI also encouraged the chamber to continue to support business in the area to rebuild and continue during uncertain times.

“We do have relationships outside government that can make things happen.”

Richard Ntjana spoke on some the achievements of the RCCI under the leadership of the previous president Danie Bezuidenthout- an online voting system and a digital platform which facilitates the buying and selling of businesses.

Linda Blackbeard concluded the event with a summation of the year and some of the challenges faced by the chamber in a turbulent year.

Blackbeard asserted that in a time when unlawfulness has become more prevalent, the RCCI has a zero tolerance policy.

“Crime and corruption have been rife in our area and this is something we won’t stand for.”
