HONEYDEW – Honeydew police are appreciating a weekend of successes after a number of suspects were arrested for serious crimes in the Honeydew policing area.

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said in one incident, three suspects were arrested for attempted murder in Cosmo City on 21 November.

“Our Robbery Reaction Unit worked on information provided to them to track down a stolen white Ford Figo. When officers approached the vehicle, the suspects opened fire and police responded in kind,” he said.
Three suspects were arrested and unlicensed firearms and ammunition were recovered alongside the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

In Cosmo City, a stolen white BMW X5 was recovered at the corner of Sierra Leone Street and Central Republic Road.
A number of suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs, and when a stolen Nissan NP200 was recovered, packets of crystal meth were discovered hidden inside the vehicle.

“We would like to congratulate our police members for making a large number of arrests in such a short period of time. These arrests are for multiple crimes and all arrested suspects will appear in court once investigations are complete as many are being linked to other crimes in other areas.”
