ActionSA members walk the talk

OLIVEDALE – The Ward 101 ActionSA members took to the streets of Olivedale for a community clean-up.

Saturday morning commuters saw representatives of the political party begun by former Mayor of the City of Johannesburg Herman Mashaba in bright green pick up litter while they handed out out pamphlets to passers-by. Although the party is yet to be registered as a political party by the Independent Electoral Commission, representatives in different wards have taken to the streets to make a change.

“Our hope is if you see all these green people in your area, more people will come to know about us,” offered Wendy Thomé one of the ActionSA members present at the clean-up.

The members of the political party spent their Saturday enthusiastically passing out flyers to people who passed by the vacant land across the road from Netcare Olivedale Hospital, adjacent to the BP filling station. Residents in the area have long complained about the litter in the area.

Representatives of the party took to the streets to put action behind their words after being frustrated with the litter on the streets of their ward.
