Halloween was a howl at the Randburg SPCA

NORTH RIDING – The Randburg SPCA buzzed with little ones with painted faces, bold costumes and chaperones who trailed behind their 'mini-me's supercharged by sugar. Stalls at the Howl'ween Market sold a variety of food, crafts and tickets to win raffles.

The Randburg SPCA hosted the Howl’ween Market at their premises in North Riding this past weekend. The market was an opportunity for all to visit the society, dressed up for a ‘spooktacular’ event for all ages to raise funds.

Children who attended the market went from stall to stall to ‘trick or treat’ in their costumes in honour of Halloween. The Randburg Sun ran a raffle which included a variety of cosmetics and cookbook where all proceeds from the raffle went to the SPCA.

The event was the society’s first fundraiser in a year that has been ravaged with financial instability and general uncertainty. The healthy attendance in the summer sun mirrored the eagerness for Randburg residents to join in the fun at the event.

Little ones who visited the Randburg Sun stall were pleased to receive packets of sweet treats with a ‘Solve it Squad’ activity sheet attached. They were encouraged to send pictures of their completed activity sheets to stand a chance to win a prize as well as a feature in the paper’s next edition.
