Thabani Ndhlovu is the winner of the LPGas competition

The association offered one lucky learner at Boipuso High School an opportunity to gain exposure to the world of gas as a career, through a domestic installer programme offered by LPGSA.

Bloubousrand resident Thabani Ndhlovu (16) was the winner of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa (LPGSA) competition.

The association offered one lucky learner at Boipuso High School an opportunity to gain exposure to the world of gas as a career, through a domestic installer programme offered by LPGSA.

Grade 10 learners were tasked with a one-page essay where they had to write about what they knew about gas. Thabani spent a day on his essay and after her wrote down what he knew about gas off the top of his head, he proceeded to do some research.

Acting managing director of the association, Nirvan Brijlal expressed joy that LPGSA was able to make a difference in the life of this youngster who won the competition. Brijal emphasised that the association would work with Thabani’s schedule, where he would continue to attend school as his first priority. The week-long programme has been made available to Thabani whenever he is ready to proceed.

LPGas is committed to the journey with the chosen candidate until they are compliant and have started their career at the association.

Thabani has since met with his mentor and has had practical exposure to what he can expect from the programme.

The Boipuso High learner said he remained inspired by his mother and older siblings to be the best he could be.

His family was very proud of his achievements.

“I am inspired by life, learning and doing more for the community,” beamed the winner.

Thabani listens to Gospel music in his spare time and currently has Lecrae’s Beautiful Feet on repeat.
