Three suspects were arrested by the Randburg police after an attempted business break-in in Bryanston on 17 September.

Randburg police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said that members of sector policing received a complaint of a business break-in during the early hours of the morning. They quickly rushed to the scene where one suspect was discovered, still inside the building.

“The suspects allegedly entered the business premises through the building’s roof. Sector police members tactically searched the premises and one suspect was arrested while hiding inside a toilet cubicle,” said Maja.

A description of the other suspects was circulated through speedy investigation and the getaway vehicle was spotted by police driving on Bram Fischer Drive in Randburg.

“The vehicle was stopped and searched. The two suspects were also found in possession of break-in implements,” said Maja.

They are expected to appear briefly in Randburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of possession of business break-in implements and business break-in.

“Through quick response and vigilance of the sector policing members, this resulted in three suspects being arrested. We applaud our officers and all those involved in this arrest, they did not leave any stone unturned in the curbing of crime,” concluded Maja.
