Randpark Ridge taxi collision leaves one dead, 8 injured

RANDPARK RIDGE – Russel Meiring said that the patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically and seriously injured provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to a hospital for further care.

On 24 August, a flat-bed truck and two bakkies collided on the N1 south near the Beyers Naudé off-ramp in Randpark Ridge.

This collision left one man dead and eight others injured. “ER24 and [another emergency response team’s] paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the three vehicles in the middle of the highway. Traffic had already begun to back up due to the collision,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

“Eight other patients were tended to on the scene. One man was in a critical condition; two were in a serious condition while five others had minor to moderate injuries,” Meiring explained.
