Kouro Properties renovates a Blairgowrie-based safe house

The Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Alliance Safe House received a makeover thanks to the work of Kouro Properties.

The Blairgowrie-based NPO was treated to a much-needed complete overhaul of certain rooms and spaces of the house. According to the home’s house supervisor, Mary-Anne Dobrovic, their exterior wall was stripped and painted and their double gate was sanded and repainted. Their water-damaged lounge wall was also treated, repaired and painted over.

“One entire tiled floor of a bedroom was lifted and re-tiled with new tiles and the room was painted.”

A bathroom was fitted with new tiles, new wooden beams replaced the old ones found outside the kitchen, parquet flooring was sanded down and refitted, roof leaks were attended to and a new chair in the sunroom added to the home’s newfound perfection. This entire job was completed in one day, besides the finishing touches of grouting the tiles, which lapsed into the following day. Dobrovic added it was the work of a wonderful clean, hardworking team that turned their home into a better place.

“The management got stuck in as they sanded and painted the walls and the gate. Nothing was too much trouble.” She said no words of thanks could ever be enough. The home also received sterilisation supplies such as a steriliser stand and were loaned two door mats that sterilise shoes each time one walked over it.

“This has been an incredible experience of kindness for our NPO home which has been in dire need of donations.” she concluded.
