Car rolls and splits in half on Ysterhout Drive, leaving driver seriously injured

RANDPARK RIDGE – ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that paramedics found the driver lying in the road, having been ejected from his vehicle.

A driver of a Jaguar XE was left seriously injured after losing control of his motor vehicle on Sunday, 26 July.

The communication’s officer for ER24, Russel Meiring, said in a statement that the driver, believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s, lost control of the motor vehicle around a bend, rolling and colliding with three trees on Ysterhout Drive, Randpark Ridge. 

“ER24 paramedics were on scene at 7.30pm and found the injured man lying in the road, having been ejected from his vehicle. Bystanders were supporting and keeping him still in case of a spinal injury,” he said.

“He was treated using advanced life support (ALS) interventions by our ALS medic while being transported to a private hospital in another private service’s ambulance.”

Meiring added that the vehicle had been torn in half by the force of the impact.
