Not a single hour of teaching has been lost at Cooper College.

NORTH RIDING – Cooper College has offered remote learning since the start of April.

Cooper College has offered remote learning since the start of April.

Remote learning sees learners and the teachers not physically present in a traditional classroom environment. Information is relayed through means of technology via the Microsoft Teams platform.

The school’s teachers continuously share pre-recorded materials; conduct live lessons and monitor progression via online interaction. The school has followed a combination of methods to deliver work to its learners, such as synchronous and asynchronous lessons.

This made provision for live interaction and collaboration, as well as provided an opportunity for learners to complete activities at their own pace and at a convenient time for their specific household routine. Further to a continuous focus on academic delivery, Cooper College has gone over and above for its learners with added virtual extramural activities, virtual aftercare, as well as e-vents.

This was implemented with the aim of allowing the learners to interact with one another in an informal and fun way. The school has also included weekly virtual tours to places all around the world to add to its global educational experience as a Cambridge Assessment International Education school. This has been enjoyed tremendously by the learners and their families. To consolidate and conclude the Term 2 remote learning, the school decided to conduct an open learning project assignment for all learners.

Cooper College received amazing projects which displayed what has been learnt throughout this time. The school commended its teachers and learners, who were always up for a challenge during this time? whether it is academically, virtually or for social media such as Facebook.

“Our staff members are actively busy getting the school ready to welcome our learners back at school in a safe environment,” said Lee Coetzee from the school’s marketing department.

“We are proud of all personnel who have displayed passion and commitment to the best interest of our learners during these unchartered times. Our admissions remain open if you need to move your child.”
