Local musician shares ongoing journey

RANDBURG – An emerging artist shares his journey in the industry, his goals and what he brings to the table.

Randburg-based rapper and singer Phumelelo Sibeko (27) has always had a passion for music.

Sibeko grew up in Limpopo and described himself as, ‘quite reserved and very meek but attentive to social matters faced by our generation’.

Sibeko recalled his passion for music since the age of 12 where he would listen to some of his favourite rappers such as Nas, Eminem and local artist Proverb. After that, the then pre-teen began to write and record poetry which soon turned into songs.

Apart from music, the artist enjoys basketball, writing, reading and motivating others to be the best versions of themselves. He said the calibre of his music and production is what sets him apart from his competition. “The message, the bars and the story, not many rappers are able to do that.”

Sibeko spoke about one his greatest accomplishments thus far – being featured on a local radio station. “As an artist I managed to get some of my songs played on radio stations in South Africa, to start up a recording label called Frontline inc and, also, I have a music video on YouTube which many people left some positive comments on. The plan is to take over, inspire and reach out to those less privileged.”

Sibeko’s stage name is Stylez Graece and you can find him on Twitter and Instagram @StylezGraece_RSA, on his Facebook page Facebook page: Stylez Graece_SA and via email: frontlinemusic19@gmail.com
