Heed the call to self-isolate

BOSKRUIN – Ward 101 councillor encourages all to keep heeding the call to self-isolate during the coronavirus lockdown.

Ward 101 councillor Dalu Cele encouraged community members to keep heeding the call to self-isolate and practise safe hygiene during the coronavirus lockdown.

“I have received numerous reports of residents who are not in compliance with the lockdown regulations. They are not only putting their own lives at risk, but they are putting the lives of others in danger too,” said Cele.

He reiterated that residents were allowed to go and buy essentials such as food, collect medicine and seek medical attention.

“Whilst you are out, practise social distancing and good hygiene practices at all times. When you get home, make sure that you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or more with soap or hand sanitiser.

“The sad reality is that we do not have enough hospital beds in South Africa to accommodate an overwhelming number of people who may need hospitalisation. Let us flatten the curve together and keep good hygiene in place.”

He thanked all residents who were taking heed of the laws put in place during the lockdown and hoped that all residents stayed safe.
