Wendy Alexander appointed DA Johannesburg Chief Whip

BOSKRUIN – Ward 134 councillor Wendy Alexander has been appointed the DA Johannesburg Caucus Chief Whip.

DA Johannesburg Caucus Leader Leah Knott is proud to announce that Ward 134 councillor Wendy Alexander has been appointed the DA Johannesburg Caucus Chief Whip.

She said, “We believe that under her leadership, the party will continue to drive cooperation and forge a stronger working relationship with other political parties in the City of Johannesburg Council.”

Prior to joining politics, Alexander worked in the marketing and brand activation space for over 10 years.

She has served as the political support cluster chairperson of the DA Joburg Caucus.

Knott said, “Wendy is passionate about service delivery at local government level, with an interest in cooperative governance across the spheres of government.”

Alexander holds an honour’s degree from the University of Pretoria, specialising in therapeutic recreation. She recently broadened her academic horizon by completing a course through the Wits School of Governance in Leadership in Local Government.

“What is really special is that she is currently raising a puppy for the SA Guide-Dogs Association as she feels strongly about providing people with opportunities and support, so that they can become the best versions of themselves.

“We wish councillor Wendy Alexander all the success in her new role as the Chief Whip of the DA Joburg Caucus. The party stands in full support behind her as she guides the Caucus towards the 2021 Local Government Elections.”
